OWA (Outlook Web App): Error message after migration to the cloud

If you get the following error after migration to the cloud when you log into OWA, do the following:

Clear the browser's cache

Instructions for Firefox and Internet Explorer.

Firefox

  • Open History > Clear Recent History.

Choose the following settings (note that any other settings may delete the saved settings which affect the behaviour of the browser).

  • Time range to clear (1): Everything
  • In the Details view (2), tick the following options as shown in the image:
  • Cookies
  • Cache
  • Active Logins
  • Offline Website Data

Choose Clear Now.

Test the login by going again to the address office365.helsinki.fi
If you get the error message again, follow the following instructions.

Otherwise, you can continue to login.

  • In some cases, you may encounter the following advice. Click the link.

The application may also ask for your login information once again.

  • Enter your username as username@ad.helsinki.fi

  • OWA opens.

If the above did not help, perform this step:

  • Open Tools > Options.

  • Choose the Advanced tab (1).
  • Open the Network tab (2).
  • Click Clear Now (3).

  • Click to activate both office365.helsinki.fi and *outlook.com (if any).
  • Click Remove.

  • Click Remove offline data.

  • Click OK.

Test the login by going again to the address office365.helsinki.fi

Internet Explorer

  • Open the cog icon > Internet options.

  • Open the General tab (1).
  • Click Delete (2).

This opens a new window, Delete Browsing History.

  • Tick the following items:
    • Temporary Internet files
    • Cookies
    • ActiveX Filtering and Tracking Protection data
  • Click Delete.

  • Click OK.

Test the login by returning to the address office365.helsinki.fi

The browser goes to a page with a new login link. Save this link to your favourites (Add to favourites).

The application may ask for your login information once again.

  • Enter your username as username@ad.helsinki.fi
