MacOS Sequoia became available for centrally managed University Mac computers on 26 November 2024.
You will receive a notification on your University Mac computer when the update is available for installation. Some University Mac computers do not support macOS Sequoia and these devices will not receive the update.
NB: macOS Sequoia’s built-in Apple Intelligence features have been disabled on centrally managed University Mac computers for the time being because they do not currently meet the University of Helsinki's policy for cloud services.
- Check Apple’s website to see if your Mac supports macOS Sequoia
- You can also read Apple’s instructions for finding your Mac model name
If you are using an old Mac device that does not support macOS Sequoia or macOS Sonoma (minimum requirement for University Macs from 31 January 2025 onward) and you need a new Mac for your work, make a purchase request for a new work computer. Support for Mac devices continues for 12 months after the end of the warranty period.
