The Flamma Workgroups service (workgroups.helsinki.fi) will be migrated to a new platform in November 2026. Marking workgroup spaces for transfer begins on Monday, 1 June 2026.
We ask all owners of Flamma Workgroups (workgroups.helsinki.fi) spaces to mark their content either for transfer to the new platform or for archiving well in advance.
- Please note! All workgroup spaces must be marked either for transfer or for archiving—any workgroup spaces left unmarked will not be transferred to the new platform. By marking your workgroup space for transfer in time, you can avoid a possible rush when the platform migration begins in the autumn term of 2026.
- Once marked, your workgroup space and its contents will be securely transferred to the new service when migrations begin gradually in late summer/early autumn 2026.
- Page permissions will also be transferred, but both the content and the permissions will require your review once the transfers have been completed. We will provide later information on this, together with instructions, as well as on the deadline for marking workgroup spaces.
Mark your workgroup space either for transfer or archiving
It is enough to mark your workgroup space for transfer—the IT Centre will carry out the actual transfers once they begin. Mark for archiving any workgroup spaces that you no longer need.
Please note! Personal workgroup spaces will not be transferred at all. You can create PDF files from these workgroup spaces and save them locally on your own computer. We will publish instructions for this in late summer/early autumn.
Mark your workgroup space for either transfer or archiving as follows:
1. Select Settings from Space Tools in the workgroup space menu.
2. In the Space Tools view, select Overview and then Space Details. Next to the Categories field, select Edit.
3. Enter your choice in the Categories field (or select the option from the Suggested Space Categories list):
- 1_siirto (transfer) or
- 2_arkisto (archive)
Finally, select Add.
The name of the Flamma Workgroups service will change to Wiki Workgroups when the new platform is introduced
The name of the Flamma Workgroups service (workgroups.helsinki.fi) will change when the new platform is introduced. From late November 2026 onward, the service will be called Wiki Workgroups. The new name clarifies the purpose of the service and distinguishes it from the university’s official internal communication channel, Flamma (the university intranet).
