The synchronisation of OneDrive Personal accounts with the University OneDrive service will be prevented to ensure that folders and information intended solely for the University’s work, research, teaching and study purposes are not synchronised with OneDrive Personal accounts (the personal OneDrive accounts of University staff and students) and do not compromise the University’s data protection.
Conversely, the change also ensures that the personal data, files and folders of University staff and students on their OneDrive Personal accounts is not synchronised with the University’s OneDrive service.
- The change takes effect on 1 September 2025 after which files and folders in the University’s OneDrive service will be synchronised with the University’s OneDrive service exclusively.
