Many current University staff members still have an active student roaming network profile. When the roaming profile’s 300 MB data cap is exceeded, you will receive an error message on the device you are using. This may cause interruptions to your work.
We recommend that you disable the roaming network profile as soon as possible if you are not a University student and do not specifically need the profile for work on University IT Stations. The profile contains students’ personal settings, so they are preserved when working on different IT Stations.
- Check if you have the roaming profile enabled by logging in with your University account at https://rontti.helsinki.fi/hyad/tiedostopalvelu/, and see if the information displayed contains a Profile row (Note: use either Chrome or Edge, as the site does not work on Firefox.
- Follow the IT Helpdesk instructions to disable the roaming network profile.
- If you still need a roaming profile (e.g. if you are both a University staff member and a degree student), please read the instructions for freeing space in a full profile folder as well as the instructions for correcting a student roaming profile.
