Brief service breaks in wireless connections at Viikki and remote locations 17 April, 1–3PM – logging in to eduroam will change!

Brief service breaks will occur with the University wireless networks (eduroam, HelsinkiUni and HelsinkiUni Guest) at Viikki on 17 April 2024 from 1 to 3PM. The service breaks are due to the renewal of the University’s wireless networks’ and VPN connections’ login services.

Attention University staff & students:

Logging in to eduroam with short usernames (e.g. rkeskiva) will no longer work at Viikki and remote locations after the service breaks on Wednesday 17 April 1–3PM! You must get new eduroam profile settings and use @helsinki.fi usernames when logging in to eduroam going forwardYou can also get new eduroam profile settings, if you are not sure which form of username you have previously used or if you are working on another campusthese changes will take effect at the City Centre and Meilahti Campuses as well on 22 February (the changes already took effect at Kumpula on 9 April 2024). We will release detailed information on the upcoming service break at the City Centre and Meilahti campuses soon.

2. To minimize interruptions to your work, we recommend that you get new eduroam profile settings well before the service break and connect to University Wireless networks (HelsinkiUni, HelsinkiUni Guest and eduroam) before the service break.

  • Lahti operating unit of the Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences (Niemenkatu 73)
  • Korkeakoski (Hyytiäläntie 124)
  • Lammi Biological Station (Pääjärventie 320)
  • Rural Research and Training Centre (Seinäjoki: Keskuskatu 34, Kampusranta 9)
  • Mikkeli (Saimaankatu 6, Lönnrotinkatu 5, Lönnrotinkatu 7)
  • Saarentaus (Pohjoinen pikatie 800)
  • Tvärminne Zoological Station (Hanko)
  • Vaasa Unit of Legal Studies (Tammipiha, 4th floor, Pitkäkatu 28-30)
  • Värriö Subarctic Research Station (Savukoski)
