To mark the European Cybersecurity Month, the IT Center will organise a webinar, Digital security at the University, on various current topics related to digital security. Sign up and ask a question about digital security – the most insightful questions will be rewarded!

The Digital Security at the University webinar is aimed at all University staff and students and will be organised at the beginning of the European Cybersecurity Month as a Zoom webinar on Thursday, 2 October from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. There will be discussions about various topics with webinar guests, and we also welcome your questions about digital security – you can write your questions to us in advance when signing up or ask questions in the chat during the event. The webinar will be held in Finnish, but you can also ask questions in English and in Swedish.

Don’t hesitate to ask questions! The best questions will be rewarded with University-themed laptop stickers. Additionally, all participants will be entered into a draw for a University of Helsinki branded t-shirt.

9:00 AM: Opening of the webinar

9:15 AM: Multi-factor authentication at the University: how the expansion of MFA at the University has improved the university's digital security? Guests: IT expert Jukka Karvonen and Information Security Manager Kenneth Kahri.

9:35 AM: What kind of development network is Tietoturvakilta (Information Security Guild)? Guest: IT expert Jukka Karvonen.

10:00 AM: Current overview from the National Cyber Security Centre. Presentation by Specialist Jere Finne from the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom's National Cyber Security Centre.

10:25 AM: The University’s autumn 2025 information security news – what is the current status of information security at the University and how can we influence it? Guest: Information Security Manager Kenneth Kahri.

10:40 AM: Digital security tips and time for questions

11:00 AM: End of the webinar.

  • When signing up, please provide your name and email address. You can also ask an advance question about the webinar topics if you wish. After signing up you will receive details about your participation by email.
  • The webinar is intended for University staff and students. Please do not share the registration link with external parties!
  • The language of the webinar will be Finnish, but questions can also be asked in English and Swedish. The webinar will be recorded.
  • We will also use the Howspace platform as a facilitation tool during the event. Howspace is being piloted this autumn in the IT Centre and in the university services. Instructions for using Howspace in the webinar will be provided separately during the webinar.
