The access control of the University’s degree students’ self-study facilities will be renewed. The new service will be available from 20 May 2025 onward. Old access tags for self-study facitilies are valid until 19 June 2025.
Please note! This service change concerns you if you have an old access tag for the night use of self-study spaces or you wish to use the University’s self-study facilities during the weekends or at night-time and you need an access tag for this purpose.
The University will renew access control for students because the new access control system enables more flexible and comprehensive opportunities for using University premises. The night-time access key service provided by the IT Centre will be discontinued at the same time.
The access control renewal means that students will be transferred to the University’s centralised access control system. The service change concerns the use of self-study facilities. See more information about learning facilities in the Studies service’s instructions
- University degree students and doctoral researchers will receive one access control tag free of charge in connection with the service renewal.
- If you wish to use the University’s self-study facilities during weekends or at night-time, pick up a new access tag free of charge from your nearest service point.
- For instructions on applying for a new access tag and returning old night access keys, see IT Helpdesk instructions
If you have an old night access key for University self-study facilities, apply for a new access tag free of charge according to these instructions
- If you have an old night access key for self-study facilities, see the IT Helpdesk instructions for returning the key. The key must be returned by 31 October 2026 so that we can return the deposit for the key.
- Pick up your new access control tag – please remember to bring your student card with you when you pick up the tag. See the IT Helpdesk instructions for applying for a new access tag
- The old night access key system will remain in use for a month after the deployment of the new access control system, so that students have enough time to return their old night access keys. The use of the old night access key system will end on 19 June 2025.
