Service breaks on websites created with web hotel starting 23 October

From 23 October 2019, the IT Center will gradually begin updating the web hotel platform intended for the network services and websites of units. The updates are necessary because the existing platform is about to expire.

The updates will cause service breaks on websites created with the web hotel during the autumn and the remainder of 2019. The typical duration of a service break will be approximately two hours but may in some cases be longer depending on the website. The updates will be carried out in groups of 10 servers.

• If you are responsible for a website which this update affects, check that the transfer was successful and that the service works as usual after the update. The updates do not require any other actions from you.
• You can check the sites affected by the update as well as the update schedule from the web hotel platform update schedule page.
• All existing data of the sites will be copied from the old platform to the new one. The old data will be stored for six months after copying as a backup copy that can be used for restoration, if necessary.
• Contact Helpdesk if you have any problems.
