To support University staff responsible for onboarding people from outside the University, we are organising three new Kamu support clinics, aimed particularly for supervisors, on 1 December 2026, 14 January and 15 March 2027.
Kamu is used to manage the details and user accounts of people who are neither employed by nor studying at the University and have no other agreement recorded in SAP HR. IT-Helpdesk no longer extends user accounts – instead, user account expiry dates are now determined by one of the following:
- Study right recorded in Sisu
- An employment contract or other agreement recorded in SAP HR
- A role membership in Kamu
Supervisors can also use Kamu to invite people from outside the University to join the University community. In Kamu, you can invite or approve external people as members of the University community, enabling them to obtain a user account for University systems. To support this work, we are organising three one-hour Kamu support clinics with the same content on 1 December 2026 from 10 to 11 AM, 14 January from 9 to 10 AM and 15 March 2027 from 1 to 2 PM.
The clinics will cover the current procedures for granting and extending user accounts for people from outside the University.

The support clinics are intended particularly for supervisors and others who can manage the memberships of external individuals in Kamu. However, all University and its group companies' employees who are interested in Kamu are welcome to join. The support clinics will be held in Finnish, but you can also ask questions in English. We will also email supervisors about the clinics in week 44.
