Microsoft ended Internet Explorer 11 support on 15 June 2022. We informed university staff and students on the Internet Explorer browser’s end-of-life during the spring and summer of 2022. The IT Center will block use of Internet Explorer on the university’s centrally maintained Windows computers from Monday, 10 October 2022 onward.
- We recommend that university staff and students use a different browser, such as Firefox, Chrome, or Edge. Read more about the end of support for the Internet Explorer 11 browser on Microsoft’s website. Also see our earlier bulletin about the end of support for Internet Explorer.
- If, for example, you use an application or system which is optimised for the Internet Explorer browser, you can use the “IE Mode” function in Edge:
- Select Settings from under the three dots next to your profile picture. In the window which opens up, select the Default browser section, and from under the Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode section, select Allow -> Restart:
