VMware Horizon Client’s product name will change to Omnissa Horizon Client

Only the software name will change – the software and its use remain unaffected, and you can use VDI remote desktops with Omnissa Horizon Client as before. The software name change is due as Omnissa has acquired the VMware product family.

Important information about the VMware product family name change

• If you have added a shortcut to VMware Horizon Client to your desktop or taskbar, please create new shortcuts. Old VMware Client shortcuts will not work after the product name changes to Omnissa Horizon Client on 3 March 2025.
• You can create a new shortcut to your taskbar in Windows by searching for Omnissa Horizon Client in windows search and right-clicking Pin to taskbar on the search result:
