Howspace is a digital platform designed for facilitation and collaboration. The University of Helsinki has acquired a Howspace campus licence, effective from May 2026, which provides an unlimited number of workspaces and users.
It’s worth starting your exploration of Howspace with the University of Helsinki’s customised workspace, which contains information materials (the website is in Finnish, but you can select your preferred language from the translation menu in the top right-hand corner). In addition to introductory material, you’ll find instructions and links to resources and training courses in this workspace.

How do I get my own workspace?
Request a workspace from the administrators using the online form.
Please note that when acquiring a workspace, you must provide the profit centre code (H-code) when placing the order for statistical purposes. Tike will cover the licence costs until April 2028. There are no costs associated with test workspaces.
Getting started
Howspace is used in a web browser, either directly in your own workspace or embedded in, for example, Moodle. Once you have been allocated your own platform, an invitation link to your platform will be sent to your email address.
