The new version of Microsoft Teams will be taken into use on centrally managed University staff Windows computers in early 2024. The latest version of Teams is significantly faster than the previous version and includes multiple new features.
The IT Center will introduce the new Teams for University staff Windows computers starting 7 February 2024. You can enable the new Teams by turning on the Try the new Teams slider in the top left corner of your application as soon as it becomes available.
Note: Microsoft has made changes to the default view settings in the new Teams version. We recommend that you adjust the following settings to maintain your user experience:
1. To make Teams groups appear as lists instead of a grid view, click the three dots at the top right corner of the Teams application (to the left of your profile picture), select Settings -> Appearance and Accessibility and under Layout, select List.
2. To switch to the previous default Teams theme, click the three dots at the top right corner of the Teams application (to the left of your profile picture), select Settings -> Appearance and Accessibility and under Theme, select Classic.
The new Teams will completely replace the old version in early 2024. We will inform you of the implementation schedule separately.
