CSC and NORDUnet, the administrators of the University of Helsinki Zoom version, have announced that password protection will become mandatory university Zoom meetings starting from summer 2020. The exact time of the change has not been confirmed. The change will also affect any scheduled Zoom meetings that have been created earlier.

We made password protection mandatory by default in new meetings already in April 2020, but switching this setting off has been possible until now.

Please prepare for the change now and start using password protection in your meetings:

  • Go to www.helsinki.fi/zoom and select Sign in.
  • In the left side menu, select Meetings, select the name of the meeting and select Edit this meeting.
  • In the meeting settings, change the password as required by checking the box in Meeting password -> Require meeting password. The password can be modified.
  • If you need help in setting the password, please contact the Helpdesk
