Microsoft Teams will be upgraded to a new version on centrally managed University staff Windows computers on 1 April 2024. New Teams is significantly quicker than the current version and Microsoft has added many new features to the client application.
Please note: Microsoft has made considerable changes to Teams. We therefore recommend that you switch to the new version by clicking the Try the new Teams toggle in the top left corner of your application as soon as possible. This way you can get acquainted with the new user interface and features well in advance, and make changes to Teams settings to improve your user experience.
Microsoft has also made changes to the default views in Teams. We recommend that you make the following changes to your settings to maintain your user experience:
1. To make Teams groups appear as lists instead of grids, select Settings -> Appearance and Accessibility via the three dots in the top right corner of Teams (to the left of your profile picture) and under Layout, select List.
2. To maintain the default Teams theme, select Settings -> Appearance and Accessibility via the three dots in the top right corner of the Teams (to the left of your profile picture) and under Theme, select Classic.
