The university Zoom service provider NORDUnet strongly recommends updating Zoom applications to version 5.10.4 or newer due to an information security vulnerability detected in earlier versions. The update has already been installed on most university computers. The University of Helsinki IT Center will prevent the use of earlier Zoom versions from Thursday 2 June 2022 onward.
Update your Zoom application:
- The update will be installed automatically on your university work computer when it is connected to the university network via VPN or wired connection. The update will be installed as a background process, and you will not receive a separate notification about it. You can also install the update yourself from the University Software Center.
- You can check your Zoom application version by clicking your profile picture and selecting Help -> About zoom.
- For your personal home computer you must install the update yourself by clicking your profile picture and selecting Check for updates.
