Apple support for the OS X 10.10 Yosemite operating system version will end because the MacOS 10.13 High Sierra version will soon be launched. Users of centrally administered Mac workstations can upgrade the version via the Managed Software Center from 9 October onwards.
Users of OS X 10.10 Yosemite or older operating system versions can upgrade the version at their convenience, but by 6 November at the latest. To ensure information security, the IT Center will automatically install a new version on the computer after that.
Also Microsoft support for Office 2011 for Mac software will end soon. Microsoft Office 2016 for Mac has already been available for quite a long time. The user can install Microsoft Office 2016 via the Managed Software Center. The IT Center will begin the centralized uninstalling of the Office 2011 package on 1 October.
