Unitube Lecture Recording Rooms

The university’s facilities centre and the IT Center have together installed self-service Unitube lecture recording equipment in certain lecture rooms at the University of Helsinki. The lecture recording equipment is not remotely scheduled. Instead, the organiser (lecturer) must always start and stop the recording device.

Note: In some lecture rooms, the streaming button may not accurately reflect whether streaming is on or off. You can check whether streaming is operational by trying to open the stream as a viewer.

The Unitube service has a regular monthly maintenance window during which the Unitube Viewer may be unavailable. The maintenance window is scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

The Unitube Uploader maintenance window is scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on every Tuesday.

Unitube service break from 2-4 July 2025

The Unitube video service will be out of use from 2-4 July 2025. The service break concerns the entire service, including Unitube recording, streaming in Unitube lecture rooms and studios, and the Unitube Uploader and Unitube Viewer services on the Helsinki.fi website.
