As part of the reform of wireless roaming networks, the HUPnet network will gradually be replaced with a new roaming network during 2019. As an update to the earlier announcement, the limitations of HUPnet use will continue until 1 February 2019. After this, you can log onto HUPnet using HUPnet accounts only.
The IT Center conducted a HUPnet user survey in November. We will observe the survey responses in the roaming network reform and pay particular attention to the coverage and reliability of the eduroam network with improved information security. The university community will be informed of changes as the reform proceeds.
For information security reasons, we recommend that users should prefer the eduroam network. Eduroam will be automatically suggested for connection whenever you are within its coverage area. Eduroam is also used in many partner universities in Finland and abroad, and university users can log in to the eduroam network using their own university’s user accounts.
