Moodle service disruption detected on 1 September 2025 – please avoid additional Moodle logins when possible

A service disruption was detected in the Moodle learning environment on 1 September 2025 at 9:42 AM. The disruption is ongoing and causes slow service and freezes. The disruption also affects the creation of new Moodle areas on course pages.

The service disruption is due to an unexpected and significant increase in concurrent Moodle logins. We endeavor to resolve this issue as soon as possible. However, a technical resolution to the issue will require more time and resources – therefore we ask for University staff and students to do the following:

1. That all students are not urged to log in to Moodle during orientation events. This will reduce the number of concurrent Moodle logins.

2. That teachers share course material through course pages instead of Moodle, when possible. See instructions for sharing course material on course pages

Our deepest apologies for the service disruption!
