The University of Helsinki has concluded an indefinite contract on captioning services for videos and podcasts with Spoken Oy, effective as of 1 June 2023. Under the contract, captioning services can be ordered in Finnish, Swedish and English.
Captioning services are provided in accordance with the following overall service model:
- The recordings are preprocessed with a speech recognition and captioning solution.
- Language experts edit the resulting text in accordance with the accessibility criteria in the language of the source material.
Spoken Oy delivers the texts directly to the publishing platform (e.g. Unitube, YouTube, Vimeo) and linked to the content in question or by email to the client. The unit that places the order pays for the captioning service.
Prices:
- Videos: €2.49/minute of recording, no minimum invoicing per order. A single order can contain several videos.
- Podcasts: €0.99/minute of recording, no minimum invoicing. A single order can contain several podcasts.
- Translated captions: €15/minute of recording (Fin–Eng, Eng–Fin, Swe–Eng, Eng–Swe, Swe–Fin, Fin–Swe)
- 24% VAT will be added to the prices.
