Update 1 April 2022: Unitube Uploader will be out of use due to service updates on Tuesday 5 April 2022 from 8 to 10 AM. Some delays and intermittent breaks may occur after the service break due to possible additional work needed due to the update.
We will introduce a new lifecycle feature for Unitube recordings on Tuesday 5 April 2022. The lifecycle feature will help us keep Unitube content up to date, facilitate the administration of videos, and support more efficient usage of the service’s recording capacity.
Unitube is the university’s video service where you can record, stream, watch, publish and manage videos you have published. Read more information about the service and instructions on the IT Helpdesk Unitube page.
- With the lifecycle feature, all new and old Unitube recordings will have a storing deadline, after which the video will be removed from Unitube Uploader.
- After the feature launch, all current Unitube recordings and recordings from lecture halls and studios will automatically have a validity period of three years.
- You can select a removal date (from 6 months to 3 years) for the recordings you have uploaded with Unitube Uploader.
- You can also extend the validity of your recordings.
In the future we hope to add a reminder function which would send reminders to Unitube series owners when the storage deadline for recordings approaches
Tips for good Unitube video lifecycle management:
- You should set the longest possible validity for the videos that are most important and are in use for the longest time.
- Did you know that you can add other users and user groups to control your recording series on Unitube Uploader? Sharing responsibility is a good way to ensure continued validity of your recordings.
