Activating a university user account and changing a password require strong authentication. From now on, the Suomi.fi identification web service will be used in authentication. The authentication process will work as before, but the service looks slightly different.
You can identify yourself in the Suomi.fi web service by using Finnish banking credentials, mobile certificate or an electronic ID card.
If you do not have any of these, please visit an ID Point and after that take care of matters requiring identification by contacting Helpdesk by phone.

In future, the password of a Unix user account can only be changed through Helpdesk once you have identified yourself at an ID Point first.
