The IT Center has published the University’s new open-source code principles. The principles were defined collaboratively by various parties at the University, and they are recommended to be used when developing software or software components for the University of Helsinki.
As a rule, the source code for software and software components produced at the University, as well as other material related to their use, are open. In addition to transparency, the principles emphasize quality and a sense of community.
The new principles do not apply to research conducted at the University. The open science principles for research are available on the University’s website.
