Zoom video communications service becomes available to university staff and students

The full version of Zoom video communications service will become available to all university staff and students from the beginning of November 2019. Easy to use, Zoom allows you to create meeting rooms and participate in meetings, seminars and conferences via video and sound.

Zoom is also an excellent tool for arranging interaction and tasks in remote teaching as the software can be used to create polls and group work rooms for the participants.

• You can participate in Zoom meetings through a separate app installed on your computer or mobile device, or through a Chrome browser. Zoom has been installed on computers administered by the University of Helsinki (the program will become available on Mac computers later in November).
• You can install the Zoom client software on your personal computer or mobile device at https://zoom.us/download
• When using Chrome, you can access Zoom at www.helsinki.fi/zoom. However, we recommend using the Zoom client.
• Start using Zoom easily with Helpdesk’s instructions. Training sessions related to Zoom will also be arranged later on.
