Azure Virtual Desktop service is available for students

Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) is a remote Windows desktop which University students can use to access University services, applications and their own files conveniently from any location. Students only need an Internet connection and a modern web browser or client software to use AVD. The IT Center launched the service for students at the beginning of March 2023.

With AVD, students can also use the same software selection available on IT station on their own computer (such as SPSS, Stata, Atlas.TI and R for Windows as well as other software suitable for studying and research).

The primary virtual desktop service for University staff is the VDI desktop. If you want to try out Azure Virtual Desktop for University students and see how the service supports teaching, you can request access from the University IT Helpdesk (see also IT Helpdesk's Azure Virtual Desktop instructions):
