Changes to the use of SPSS software on university Mac computers

A new version of the SPSS 27 software will be available for university Mac computers from 10 February 2021. Install the new version on your university Mac computer from the Managed Software Center. The new version will introduce the following changes to the use of the SPSS software:

• Moving forward, the SPSS software will only work on university Mac computers with a VPN connection (Tunnelblick), eduroam or a fixed connection (university’s internal network). Local licences will no longer be installed on Mac computers through the university’s centralised administration. Read the Tunnelblick instructions in Helpdesk.
• The reason for the change is to make updates and administration of software licences easier.
• If you absolutely need to use the SPSS software outside the university without a VPN connection on your university Mac computer, this will be enabled for a maximum of 30 days at a time. Read the Helpdesk instructions.
