A service break will occur with the entire Unitube service, inclucing Unitube recording and streaming in Unitube lecture rooms and studios, Unitube Uploader and Unitube Viewer on the Helsinki.fi website.
The service break is due to an update of OpenCast (Unitube’s backend system) and Unitube Uploader upgrades. With the upgrades we will improve Unitube Uploader’s user interface, usability and accessibility. We will also add new functionalities to the service. Unitube will be available again on 8 July 2024 at 9 AM.
During the service break 1–7 July 2024:
- Unitube Uploader (lataamo.helsinki.fi) will be unavailable.
- Unitube Viewer (www.helsinki.fi/unitube) will be unavailable.
- Unitube recording and streaming in Unitube lecture rooms and studios will be unavailable.
- Unitube videos in Moodle will be unavailable.
- During the service break, you can use the University’s Zoom service in Unitube lecture rooms to stream or record your lectures. Recording a lecture or meeting is an easy way to make the material available to others. Recordings also save time and effort in the case of repeating lectures, training sessions or meetings. - If you want to watch or share Unitube recordings during the service break, you can temporarily move your recordings from Unitube Uploader to another service, such as Vimeo or YouTube, before the break.

Unitube is the University’s video service where you can watch and publish videos and manage the videos you have published.
