A change that affected the username format for the University’s internal eduroam login service was implemented in spring 2024. Due to the change, eduroam has since required full University usernames (including the @helsinki.fi suffix) in the format ‘rkeskiva@helsinki.fi’ when logging in. External eduroam logins will also require full University usernames beginning from 21 January 2025.
- If you work abroad or elsewhere outside the University network (e.g. at Biomedicum on the Meilahti Campus) and you have previously logged in to eduroam using your short username (e.g. rkeskiva), you must download your eduroam settings profile again.
- You can also download a new eduroam installation profile if you are unsure about your previous eduroam username format.
- The change will not affect you if you use a centrally managed University Windows, Mac or Cubbli work computer as new eduroam settings are automatically updated on these devices.
Instructions for installing a new eduroam profile
- Download the eduroam installation profile from the Geteduroam website
- Log in to eduroam with your username ending with @helsinki.fi (e.g. rkeskiva@helsinki.fi)
- Read eduroam instructions for Mac computers
- Read eduroam instructions for Cubbli on the Cubbli wiki
- Read eduroam instructions for Windows home computers
